Kate Nicodemus started to practice yoga as a teenager after she was diagnosed with scoliosis. She took advantage of opportunities to work with teachers in Europe and around US. While living in the Oxford, UK; she participated in extensive yoga teacher training under Ruth White who runs the Karuna Yoga School. In 2011 she earned her RYT 500 Yoga certification. In the US she has taken many workshops with Iyengar senior teachers as she focuses on alignment and precision in her teaching. To compliment her practice, in 2015 she completed Pilates Reformer Level 1 training with Balanced Body. Currently she is training with Connections Pilates Academy. She is also a student of Occupational therapy and committed mother of three daughters.
Maggie Bonds was certified as a Hatha Yoga Instructor in Virginia at Satchidananda Ashram in the spring of 2015. On her journey she began practicing yoga her first year in college, and found it helped her in every aspect of her life. She has found purpose in passing this meaningful practice onto others. She opened her studio, VagaBonds Yoga Therapy, in Flora in 2015. Maggie aspires to be a Doula, and will always consider herself a student of yoga. She was certified in Myofascial Release Technique in 2016, furthering her studies in the body. She now lives in Ridgeland with her two daughters Lucy and Lorelei, and partner, Robbie. Maggie hopes to help students integrate mind, body, and spirit, and give them tools to live peaceful, joyful, healthy, useful lives.
Sarah Perry is a Flora, MS native, a full time nanny and a registered yoga teacher (RYT-200). She received her training from Joyflow Yoga's Debi Lewis. Sarah discovered yoga in 2014 after having struggled with depression and anxiety for many years. Yoga offered her healing that other therapies had failed to provide. She hopes to facilitate healing for others in a nurturing environment while sharing her love for yoga.
Hannah Tait is originally from the hill country of Central Texas. She moved to the Madison area to be a trainee with the premier Christian ballet company Ballet Magnificat. Hannah has been a professional ballet dancer for 4 years but has trained in the art of ballet for over 16 years. She has had the privilege of dancing with Ballet San Antonio and with Montgomery Ballet.
Her passion for Pilates began 6 years ago when she began taking Pilates to aid with injury recovery as well as cross training for ballet. She is studying to become a Pilates Method Alliance Certified Pilates Teacher with with Jacy Miller at Connections Pilates Academy. Hannah looks forward to helping others to strengthen and increase greater awareness of their bodies.
Reesheda is a "Pink Ribbon Pilates" Certified Pilates Breast Cancer Exercise specialist and is a member of both the Pilates Method Alliance and IDEA. A wife and mother of 5, Reesheda shows dedication and passion for helping others achieve balance through a holistic approach to fitness and well being.
Outside of her yoga practice, Brandy also enjoys cooking, travel, spin classes and seeking out new adventures from the flying trapeze to skydiving to paddle boarding.
After one Pilates lesson Jessica was hooked and began to use Pilates to further her overall fitness goals. Jessica has witnessed the benefits of Pilates first hand. She just completed her comprehensive training and certification with PHI Pilates of Pittsburgh, PA in March of 2018. She believes that everyone can reap benefits from practicing Pilates, regardless of health issues or limitations.
A Clinton, MS native, Jessica Johnsey is excited to begin her second career as a Pilates instructor at Connections Wellness Studio. With a BA in Marketing and a Master in Business Administration, she began her primary career 10 years ago working in the finance industry.
Reesheda Carter has completed over 700 hours of comprehensive Pilates teacher training through the acclaimed Body Arts and Science International certification program developed by master Pilates instructor Rael Isacowitz.
After falling in love in her personal workouts, she began pursuing a full Pilates certification through Balanced Body. Bobbi holds a number of group fitness and personal training certifications, but her number one passion is Pilates, as everyone can gain benefits for their body through the various Pilates methods available.
She is the owner and director of Joyflow Yoga Studio and the principal instructor of Joyflow Yoga Teacher Training, accredited by the Yoga Alliance since 2001. Debi has a variety of certifications in yoga and other complimentary practices. She has experience and training several forms of body work as well as in several other forms of meditative movement. For Brandy Andrews Luker, yoga was love at first "flight". First attracted through an aerial practice, Brandy saw such significant improvement in strength and flexibility that she was inspired to search out other forms of yoga.
In 2013, Brandy began studying under the direction of Courtney Thibault of Louisiana Yoga and Paddle, earning her RYT certification in 2014. While always open to try anything once, Brandy most enjoys practicing and teaching Yin, Restorative and Aerial styles of yoga.
Debi Lewis is an artist, musician, yogi, mystic and muse. She discovered yoga in 1983 and since then has studied many forms of yoga: Iyengar, Ashtanga, Kripalu, Power Vinyasa and Viniyoga, from many beloved teachers, and has synthesized them into what she has named Joyflow. She has taught yoga for over 25 years and is registered with the Yoga Alliance at the highest level, E-RYT500.
Melissa Duncan is a Reformer Pilates instructor here at Connections in addition to being an office manager for a maternal fetal medicine clinic in Jackson. She holds a Reformer Pilates certification through Balanced Body.
Bobbi Naylor became interested in fitness as a hobby as a side interest to her longtime job of teaching French to area students. She first became interested in spinning several years ago but started her Pilates journey when her trainer introduced introduced her to the Reformer in 2013.
Morgan Stokes was born and raised in the Mississippi Delta. After having her son in 2014, she needed something to get her body back in shape. That’s when she first tried Barre. It changed her body like nothing else ever had. Morgan has worked full time as an accountant at MS Hospital Association since 2007. For the last 4 years, she’s been teaching barre in her spare time (lunch break!) because believes barre can change your inner and outer strength while giving you the body you’ve always longed for.
